Sailorodin

SENSHI IDENTITY: Sailorodin, the Senshi of Soothsaying
I AM GOING TO LEAVE SOME INFORMATION OUT OF SAILORODIN'S PROFILE TO PRESERVE HER MYSTERY. You'll find out who she is by reading the story (or reading the spoilers at the bottom of the page, hee).
REAL NAME: (deep breath) Shinshutsukibotsu (last name withheld). (It means literally "Appearing in unexpected places at unexpected times," or loosely, "Elusive phantom.")
NICKNAME: Su (Sue)
AMERICAN DUB NAME ^_^: Sue
SENSHI COLORS: White, black, and silver
TEAM: No team; she is the Soothsaying Senshi
WEAPONS AND ATTACKS: Sailorodin is the keeper of the Rune Oracle.
The main power she has shown so far does not have a name. Odin simply concentrates on the large blank Rune on the
top of her staff. It glows, then shows one of the 25 Runes. This Rune somehow foretells the future or reveals
hidden meanings of current events.
- Runic Keeper: Sailorodin points her index finger toward an approaching attack and says, "Runic Keeper." One of her Rune Stones appears on the end of her finger, where it magically "sticks" because of a force field. When the attack hits her, a bubble-like force field diverts it around her, protecting her and anyone very close by. If the attack is big (like ones from Saturn, Galaxia, etc.), the Rune will shatter, but still may have the power to block the attack. Using this attack can drain Odin of her energy at times, just depends on how strong the attack is that she
blocked with it.
DESCRIPTION: Surrounded by an air of mystery, Sailorodin wears a modified senshi uniform with a white cropped shirt.
The shirt has billowy sleeves, a black collar, and a black front bow. This bow has a blank Rune where the knot should
be. Odin's uniform has a white skirt and silver suspenders. Her choker, sandals, tiara, and lipstick are also silver.
A blank Rune sits in the middle of her choker and tiara. Her back bow and gloves are black too. Odin's long white hair
is done up in three braids--one is wrapped around her head, while the other two hang down. She has one golden eye and
one blind, completely black eye (just the iris and pupil; the white is still white). Rune earrings top off her
uniform.
The Rune Oracle is a silver staff with a large stone Rune on the top. It appears blank at all times except when Odin
is using it to soothsay. The other end of the staff is topped off with a smaller blank Rune.
OCCUPATION: Lives with the Witches at the Valhalla Commune, and helps them maintain the parks there. She also reads fortunes.
AGE: Appears about 21, but she has actually been alive for thousands of years because she was not involved in the battle with Metallia.
MYTHOLOGY: Odin is considered the father of the Norse gods. He is the god of war and death, but also of poetry and
wisdom. While hanging from the world tree, he learned nine powerful songs and the meaning of the Runes (one source says there are 18, while another says there are 25, so I'm going with the second one). Odin can make the dead speak to question the
wisest among them. He is often accompanied by his raven, and has only one eye, which blazes like the sun. The other eye
he traded for a drink from the Well of Wisdom, to gain immense knowledge.

During the time of Silver Millenium, the Underworld consisted of Elysion and Hell, and both cities fell under the jurisdiction of the kingdom of Odin. This kingdom was run by the King and Queen and their four children, one of whom was Sailorodin. Two of these children, Sailorelysion and Elios, protected and looked after the city of Elysion. So, Sailorodin is the sister of Elios and Sailorelysion. In an effort to extend good will toward the Golden Kingdom, Endymion's Earthly realm was allowed to successfully buy off Elysion, while Hell and the rest of the Underworld remained part of Odin. Elios and Sailorelysion willingly went with this split, but Sailorodin did not. She decided to become an "ambassador" of the kingdom of Odin, traveling from kingdom to kingdom in an effort to improve the image of what was left of her empire.
Technically, this means that Sailorodin is from Earth. However, she was not the friendliest senshi to Endymion's kingdom during that time, as she opposed the sale of half her domain. She was the only one who opposed it, so she was outvoted. Sailorodin keeps careful tabs on her feelings, so she does not show it often, but she is still fairly bitter about this sale even today. In her eyes, the Golden Kingdom bought off the most beautiful portion of the land, and then began ordering her brother and sister around, though they did not have the right as far as she was concerned. The fact that Elios and Sailorelysion went along with this willingly does not matter to her.
Odin traveled around to many kingdoms after this sale was done, where she met many senshi. But she also did come home a lot to visit with her family. She is something of a record keeper in this capacity, although Sailorsun was the one who did it officially. Sailorodin is the keeper of the Itsubun books, magick books that foretell the future or reveal things about the past. (Itsubun means "lost writings.") One is the Itsubun of the Past, which contains the records compiled by Sailorsun; Odin is the one who gave her this book for this use. The other is the Itsubun of the Future, which foretells the future (duh). The only thing is, the pages are blank up until a short time before the events it foretells happen. So, one cannot look far into the future, only a day or two. Once events become a sufficient part of the past, those pages become blank again. Sort of like while you are reading further into the book, the pages from the front of the book could be disappearing at the same time.
Sailorodin and her lineage also inherited the duty of watching over another magickal book called The Lexicon (this book will be explored in Sailormoon Mirai). The book was created by King Icarus during Silver Millenium times. He passed its care on to Sailorodin as part of a sacred trust shortly after the battle with Metallia.
