Sailorcharon has songs on the Soundtrack.

SENSHI IDENTITY: Sailorcharon, the Senshi Who Guards the Gates of the Underworld
REAL NAME: Hitoriaruki Sanzunokawa (Means Walking the River Styx Alone)
NICKNAME: 'Ruki
AMERICAN DUB NAME ^_^ : Ruthie Sanders
BIRTHDATE AND SIGN: October 25, Scorpio
SENSHI COLORS: Green and fuchsia
TEAM: A member of the Sailor Satellites

WEAPONS AND ATTACKS: Sailorcharon is the keeper of the Key of Styx. This is a staff that looks like a very large black key with a giant gold coin in the top. The gold coin has the kanji for "Safe Passage" engraved into it (I am not sure I placed it correctly, but it's close enough.).
  • Passage Denied: Sailorcharon holds her staff parallel with her body, in front of her, with the top in front of her face, and cries, "Passage Denied!" This sets up a force field that protects her and anyone within several feet of her from an enemy's attack. Many times, the energy of the enemy's attack rebounds off the force field and causes a shock to Charon, but the attack's blocking capabilities are worth it. The effects of the force field last about ten seconds.
  • Tornado of Suicides: When Charon says this, a whirlwind of lonely souls (the souls of people who have committed suicide) comes out of the coin in her staff and snatches up the enemy. They are tossed around among the souls, the whole time being told their stories, and then dropped. This enemy is left with an overwhelming feeling of sorrow and loneliness.
  • Obolus Rain: After doing some fancy posing with her Key, Charon slams the skinny end of it into the ground and yells, "Obolus Rain!" A massive shower of gold coins rain down on the enemy.
  • Tails I Live, Heads You Die: This power was inspired by an episode of Friday the 13th: The Series of the same name (as the attack). Charon simply says, "Tails I live, heads you die," and takes the coin off her front bow. She flips it into the air and catches it, slapping it on her arm so she can show it to the enemy she is using the power on. If it comes up tails, nothing happens. If it comes up heads, a beam of energy shoots out of the coin and hits the enemy in the forehead where their "Third Eye" would be. This brands them with the kanji for "coin." They are instantly killed.
  • Tails I Die, Heads You Live: The opposite of the attack above. This can be used to bring a dead person back to life if the coin comes up heads. But if the coin comes up tails, Sailorcharon will be instantly killed by the beam of energy. Since this power poses so much risk, Charon has never used it. Also, the dead body must be in certain condition for its soul to return to it; the power does not heal their body. So if the body is decomposed, it will stay that way when revived. For these reasons, Charon must choose carefully before she uses this power.
An additional use for the coin is for seeing events that concern the dead. Sailorcharon spins the coin on the surface of any of the rivers of the Underworld. While the coin spins, a memory or other such thing concerning the dead person in question is "broadcast" on the surface of the water. Because the coin is magical, it will not sink. When the coin begins to wind down in its spinning, Sailorcharon holds her hand out nearby and it falls into her palm. Charon can do this on other surfaces too, but the coin can only show events that concern dead people, and liquid surfaces work best. This power was partially inspired by the talking rings from H.G. Wells The Time Machine (at least the movie; I've never read the book so I have no idea what part the talking rings play in it).

TRANSFORMATION: As Ruki holds up her transformation wand, she calls, "Charon Satellite Power, Make-up!" A ghostly arm, head, and torso comes out of the "coin" in the top. Then the full ghost comes out, followed by other ghosts, and they form a tornado of souls that sweeps up Ruki and tosses her about. She moves around in the tornado in an attractive fashion (think typical anime pretty stuff :D ) as the ghosts caress her body with their hands, undressing her. Then everywhere they touch, they leave behind parts of her fuku. Once she is fully dressed, a ghostly guy in a cloak whom you cannot see (the cloak seems empty although it retains the shape of a man) appears next to her and puts his arm around her shoulders. He opens the cloak so you can see he is hiding the Key of Styx inside it (nope, no flashing ghost here!). Charon takes the Key and bows her head to him in gratitude. After saluting her with his sleeve, he disappears into the tornado of souls. During the entire transformation, the coin from the wand has been floating around Charon and the ghosts; now it spins in midair and splits into two coins. One coin grows bigger and takes its place on the Key of Styx. The suicides zip into the coin. The smaller coin she snatches out of the air and slaps onto her front bow. Viola! She poses as Sailorcharon.

DESCRIPTION: Sailorcharon has small, sharp dark green eyes; little eyelashes; a squared, semi-pointy chin; and wears little makeup. Her pale green hair is mid-back length, cut in a bob, with straight bangs. It is very silky. Charon's senshi skirt, collar, and choker are all fuchsia. The knot of her front bow is a large gold coin, and the jewel in her choker and tiara are small gold coins. Her front bow and back bow are both green, as well as the stripe that trims the bottom of her skirt and the gauntlets on her gloves. Charon's uniform is completed by knee-high leather boots with a heel. They have no zipper nor snaps (which means they slip on--good thing for her she can just transform in and out of them; they'd be really hard to get on and off ^_^ ).
As described above, the Key of Styx is black with a gold coin in the top. In retrospect, I think the staff part is a bit too thick; I will probably streamline it a bit in later art.

PLACE IN THE SILVER MILLENIUM: Although the satellite Charon is her home world, Charon guards the gates that lead into the land of the dead. She ferries souls across the river Styx if they can pay her the proper price of passage (one gold coin). It is her job to judge who should be allowed in. Her place as the one who walks the river Styx alone is a very lonely life. Her only companion in this job is her dog Cerberus , whom she has nicknamed Buster. Buster is a rottweiler, but he has a more fearsome form, which he shows infrequently. The dog is Charon's guardian animal.
The coin in Sailorcharon's staff holds the souls of those who have committed suicide. There must always be 100 souls inside the coin; when a new person commits suicide, one soul may leave, being replaced by the new soul.

OCCUPATION: In her new life on Earth, 'Ruki guards the gates of the underworld as Sailorcharon. She has the cover that she is a student at Mirai Mugen, but she really does not have time to attend the school. Her senshi duty is the most important thing in her life.

AGE: 18

EXTRA: 'Ruki's parents were murdered when she was just a child. Because of her past, 'Ruki is cripplingly shy and quiet. In public she's extremely prim and proper and will rarely admit that someone or something is making her uncomfortable; everyone else's comfort comes before her own. As 'Ruki, her confidence is easily shaken. As Charon, she is stronger willed, but still very prone to fear and self-doubt. Still, she takes her duty as a senshi very seriously.
All of these things are true of Charon when the story begins, but some of it may change when she stumbles upon some special friendships as time goes on. :)

MYTHOLOGY: Charon, in Greek mythology, is the ferryman of the dead. He takes the dead across the river Styx, or some say Archeron, if they have the proper payment. Payment is a gold coin (obolus). This is why in the past the dead were buried with a gold coin under the tongue. Those who were not admitted wandered the banks of the river Styx for a hundred years.
Cerberus is the three-headed dog who guards the gates of the underworld, or Hell, depending on what book you consult.
