The following facts about Evelyn Santos were gleaned from episodes 1-13 and Evie's dossier from "The Friendly Skies." A few of these are my (Laurel's) own interpretations of the character.

Things we know about Evie:
  • She was born on January 2?, 1975.
  • She has a four year old son named Matty (Mateo).
  • Evie is Puerto Rican.
  • She was once married to a man named John Renshaw, Matty's father, but they were divorced. He is now serving 1-3 years in Tacoma State Penitentiary for reasons that were not revealed on the show.
  • Evie served for four years on the South Boston police force, District 8.
  • She was shot in the head in the line of duty in January 1998. The bullet was declared inoperable by Dr. Mitchelson at that time. This bullet is still lodged in the anterior lobe of her brain.
  • Evie went to work for Sodalitas Quaerito sometime after she was shot in the head; the experience of being shot made her quit the force.
  • She is the youngest and pretty much the sassiest member of SQ.
  • Evie acts as the fulcrum between Paul and Alva, doing her best to balance them out and keep them in line.
  • If necessary, she will call either of the men out on their behavior with a scolding comment ("Alva, were you raised by wolves?" :D).
  • Evie tends to act like a sister to Paul, always trying to fix him up and give him advice on his love life.
  • She can be forceful when she needs to be to get information out of the people SQ interview for cases; she usually uses her "cop voice" for this.
  • Evie seems to be even more skeptical about the supernatural than Paul at times.

Evie's Dossier This is a photograph of Evie's dossier from "The Friendly Skies." It was autographed and then auctioned on ebay (thanks to Devi for passing on this pic to me). Unfortunately, this is the best photo that could be found of it, from the auction. These are the parts that I can basically read, though I could be wrong about some of it.

This next part is very hard to read, though there are some dates in it. It could be details about Evelyn's siblings and when they were born? Someone was born in November, someone in May, and someone in June. A couple of the dates look like 1973 and 1974. The first name looks like Julieta.
